    so after picking the services and clicking next, the system just clocks... for hours, before the site times out.

    If I try to re-run it, I'm given a message suggesting that the timer has not yet passed.

    I can reset it with stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs; but if I try to re-run it I experience the same problem. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot for your blog post. It has helped many like me while Installing SharePoint 2010 Beta. I am almost through. But while doing Initial Farm Configuration using "Initial Farm Configuration Wizard", I am getting Error;

    Errors occured.

    The service application proxy "User Profile Service Application" could not be provisioned because of the following error: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:00:57.2150000. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.
